Dostoyevsky’s novels have haunted me since I first read them in a Russian literature class. Years later, discovering Jung only deepened my sense that these weren’t just literary works—they were also psychological maps. Raskolnikov, Myshkin, the Underground Man, Smerdyakov—each one embodies a different face of the shadow, that hidden dimension of the psyche Jung said we must confront if we are ever to become whole.
